I wrote a Python script to do the necessary calculations for "A Multifocus Method for Controlling Depth of Field", described at Grafica Obscura.
These results are poor, probably because the camera shifted between images.
The script is available here. It requires Python with the Python Imaging Library ("PIL") installed.
